Karam, Shank Flying IMSA Flag at Indy

“We’re reppin’ IMSA,” says Sage Karam of himself and Michael Shank Racing and their efforts in the 101st Indianapolis 500.

Karam is a full-time IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driver, sharing the No. 14 3GT Racing Lexus RC F GT3 in the GT Daytona (GTD) class with Scott Pruett, a sports car racing legend and veteran IndyCar and Indy 500 racer. Karam is driving the No. 24 DRR Mecum Auctions Chevrolet IndyCar for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and qualified 21st for his fourth start in the legendary Memorial Day weekend race.

A number of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams have utilized the nearly one-month break between Circuit of The Americas and next week’s Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix as an opportunity to make final preparations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But even those IMSA teams not fielding cars in the 24-hour endurance classic have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming slate of WeatherTech Championship races, including the next round of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup.

Another Strong IMSA Contingent Set for 24 Hours of Le Mans

IMSA teams have performed extremely well over the past few years in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with back-to-back GTE Pro victories in 2015 and 2016, a pair of full-time IMSA WeatherTech Championship drivers winning overall in the LM P1 class in 2015, and a GTE Am class win last year.

While the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix presented by Lear Corporation on June 3 stands between now and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, IMSA teams fielding race cars in the twice-around-the-clock French endurance classic have been hard at work making final preparations to ship their cars abroad.

Third Edition of HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona to Showcase IMSA GTP and Group C Prototypes as Featured Race Car Group

The legendary race cars of the IMSA GTP era, and their Group C counterparts that competed globally for the FIA World Sportscar Championship and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be the featured race cars of the third edition of the HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona, November 8 - 12. 

Appropriately competing in the HSR Classic 24 Hour at Daytona in Run Group C, the sleek and powerful prototypes of the GTP/Group C era represented what many considered the last century's golden era of sports car racing.

IMSA Earns “Newman’s Circle Of Friends Award” From Camp Boggy Creek

Camp Boggy Creek, a camp for seriously ill children based in Eustis, Florida, holds the distinction of being a “Proud Charity” of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA).

And IMSA couldn’t be more proud of its association with Camp Boggy Creek. The partnership dates to the GRAND-AM Road Racing era prior to the 2013 merger of GRAND-AM and the American Le Mans Series to form the new IMSA. Throughout the life of the partnership, more than $3 million has been raised in support of Camp Boggy Creek.
