Scott Maxwell took another step towards the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Grand Sport (GS) title by capturing his sixth TOTAL Pole Award of the season in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsport Ford Shelby GT350R-C co-driven by Billy Johnson. It extended his series-leading total to 16 career poles.

Maxwell turned in a record lap of 1:31.045 (100.4 mph) in the shortened session. To secure his third Continental Tire Challenge GS title, Maxwell must drive the 45-minute minimum driving time required to score points. It would be Johnson’s first title in the series.

Ford Shelby Captures Circuit Of The Americas 150 Win

Billy Johnson and Scott Maxwell scored an impressive victory in Friday’s Circuit of The Americas 150, winning their fifth race of the season in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Shelby GT350R-C. They extended their lead in the quest for the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Championship Grand Sport (GS) title in a race run in over 90-degree heat.

It was the 22nd career victory for Johnson – tying him with Matt Plumb atop the all-time list – and 15th for Maxwell, who tied Eric Curran and Terry Borcheller for eighth.

Texans Mosing, Foss Win ST At COTA In Porsche

Texans Jeff Mosing and Eric Foss won the trophy in Street Tuner (ST), with the drivers of the No. 56 Murillo Racing/Mosing Motorcars Porsche Cayman keeping their championship hopes alive with their second victory of the season.

Mosing passed Owen Trinkler in the No. 44 CRG-I Do Borrow Nissan Altima with 44 minutes remaining, and led the final 18 laps.

Scott Maxwell captured his fifth TOTAL Pole Award of the season in IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge qualifying for Friday’s Circuit of The Americas 150. The Canadian ran a lap of 2:23.439 (85.3 mph) in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Shelby GT350R-C co-driven by Billy Johnson, extending his series-leading total to 15 career poles.

CJ Wilson Racing Porsche Looks To Continue Momentum At Home In Friday’s Circuit Of The Americas 150

Coming off its first IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Grand Sport (GS) class victory, Austin-based CJ Wilson Racing will look to gain additional momentum at its home track in Friday’s Circuit of The Americas 150.

Danny Burkett and Marc Miller drove the No. 33 ONE Capital Management/MotorOilMatters.org Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport to victory in the most recent round at VIRginia International Raceway. With only two races remaining, Burkett and Miller trail GS leaders Scott Maxwell and Billy Johnson by 20 points, 260-240.
