Forty7 Motorsports Making Waves Early In Full-Season IMSA Debut

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Forty7 Motorsports is making a name for itself in the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda.

In just a few short months, the Millville, New Jersey-based organization has gone from a relative unknown to an emerging powerhouse in the LMP3 class, with aspirations of expanding further and one day, potentially, making the move to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Simone, Pflucker To Drive At Barber For New Forty7 Motorsports, Alianza Motorsports Collaboration

Anthony Simone and Rodrigo Pflucker have been tabbed as co-drivers of a recently-announced collaboration between Forty7 Motorsports and Alianza Motorsports and will drive the No. 74 Norma M30 in the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda race at Barber Motorsports Park next month.

The duo most recently qualified second at Sebring International Raceway, but a mechanical failure dropped the team to a 17th place finish in the LMP3 class. The No. 47 Forty7 Motorsports entry, meanwhile, started on the pole and finished second.

One week after scoring his first career win in the 2018 Indy Lights championship on the streets of St. Petersburg, Pato O’Ward scored his first career win in the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda Friday at Sebring International Raceway.

O’Ward – who has seven career IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victories to his name –utilized a late-race caution to race from fourth to first in a final sprint to the finish to earn the victory alongside co-driver Leo Lamelas in the No. 7 Charles Wicht Racing Ligier JS P3.

Award Program Announced For MPC Teams In IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented By Mazda

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 7, 2018) – The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today announced the addition of a season-end award program for teams that compete in the Mazda Prototype Challenge (MPC) class of the IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda series.

The MPC Season-End Championship Award will be given exclusively to the 2018 MPC team champion and features a full season LM P3 class Premium Entry credit for the 2019 IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda season, as well as a $15,000 Michelin tire credit.

O'Ward Joins Lamelas For IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda Season

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A recently announced joint entry between Charles Wicht Racing and Performance Tech Motorsports has solidified its lineup for the 2018 IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda season and it includes a name familiar to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship fans – Pato O’Ward.

O’Ward will join Leo Lamelas in the No. 7 Ligier JS P3 and will make his series debut at Sebring International Raceway, where he also will compete in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts for Performance Tech Motorsports.
