Porsche GT3 Cup Canada Banquet Celebrates Champions, Eighth Year of Series

On Sunday afternoon following the final race of the season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, teams and drivers from the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada series gathered to celebrate the year’s champions and reminisce on another successful season of the Porsche one-make series.

The annual end-of-year banquet was again held at the Heritage Hall at Purple Woods Conservation Area, and arranged by Porsche Cars Canada, based in Toronto.

De Angelis Fastest on First Day of Porsche GT3 Cup Canada Season Finale Weekend

The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama series kicked off its final race weekend of the year on Friday with two practice sessions at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Leading the way was Roman De Angelis in the No. 78 Mark Motors Racing Porsche, who posted the best time of the day across the two, 40-minute sessions at one minute, 19.662 seconds (178.837 kph; 111.124 mph).

With this weekend’s doubleheader of races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park comes the finale of another captivating season of Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama competition.

The 12-round season has seen its fair share of unforgettable victories mixed with bouts of heartache, in addition to some learning experiences scattered along the way. And there’s no doubt that the final pair of races – scheduled for Saturday at 2:50 p.m. ET and Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and streamed live on IMSA.tv – will provide more of the same before championships are handed out.

De Angelis Looking to Bounce Back During Porsche GT3 Cup Canada’s Return to Trois-Rivières

The Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama season is heading into the home stretch, as teams and drivers ready for the penultimate round of 2018 this weekend at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières (GP3R) in Québec.

The series last traveled to Québec two months ago – competing at the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix weekend at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in June – and most recently competed on the streets of Toronto during the Honda Indy weekend.
